The HID ProxPro 5355 is a professional proximity reader designed for installations where a longer than standard reading distance is required. It is often used at entrances, security doors, industrial gates and other access control systems where the user wants to be able to identify themselves quickly and conveniently.

The weatherproof design means the reader works equally well indoors and outdoors and it can be mounted directly on a wall or, with a separate glass mounting kit, even behind glass.

Both can be controlled locally or via the access control system. The buzzer can also be turned off if necessary for silent operation.

There are also models with an integrated PIN keypad for installations where two-factor authentication with card and code is desired.

Long service life in harsh environments

The weatherproof casing protects the electronics against moisture and dust and makes the reader suitable for Nordic climates.

Working temperature from −30°C to +65°C ensures reliable operation all year round.
