What is SecureX SignalMax?
SecureX SignalMax is a signal amplifier (repeater) that relays signals between SecureX sensors/remotes and the SecureX hub. It is used when the distance is long or when walls, concrete or metal degrade the signal.
When do I need a SignalMax?
When you have short range or unstable communication, for example in larger properties, multi-story buildings or environments with thick walls and interference.
How does SignalMax improve range?
It acts as a bridge that receives signals from sensors and remote controls and sends them on to the hub, allowing the signals to reach even where direct communication is weak.
How many devices can SignalMax handle?
It supports up to 99 wireless detectors and up to 99 remote controls in total.
How many SignalMax can I use in the same installation?
Only 1 SignalMax may be used per system.
Do I need a SecureX hub to use SignalMax?
Yes. SignalMax is a system component and cannot be used standalone without the SecureX hub.
What app is used?
All management is done via the Stonehouse Smart app through the SecureX hub.
Does SignalMax work with Tuya and Smart Life?
Compatibility with Tuya and Smart Life is via the SecureX hub.
What frequencies does SignalMax use?
It uses 433 MHz (ASK) and 868 MHz (FSK).
What is the range of SignalMax?
Reception range is approximately 100 meters in a clear line of sight and transmission range is up to 600 meters in a clear line of sight. Indoors, the range may be shorter depending on obstacles and materials.
How should SignalMax be placed for best results?
Place it between the hub and the devices with weak signals. Recommended mounting height is 1.5 to 2 meters above the floor. Avoid electrical outlets, directly on metal or behind reinforced concrete.
How is SignalMax operated?
It is powered via DC5V (Micro USB) or DC12V.
Does SignalMax have a backup battery in case of a power outage?
Yes, it has a built-in backup battery with automatic switching in the event of a power failure and internal memory (EEPROM) that retains settings even in the event of a power loss.
How do I pair SignalMax with the SecureX hub?
Put the hub into learning mode, start SignalMax and confirm in the app that the device is registered. First pairing should always be done near the hub before moving it to its final location.
Can I divide devices into zones in SignalMax?
Yes, SignalMax has five wireless zones (zones 1 to 5) and you can add devices per zone for easier service and troubleshooting.
How do I enroll a wireless device into SignalMax?
Press the SET button 1 to 5 times to select the zone, then activate the device. Two beeps confirm successful learning. Finish by briefly pressing SET or wait about 20 seconds.
How do I delete a zone in SignalMax?
Select a zone and hold the SET button until four beeps are heard. This will delete all devices in that zone.
How do I do a factory reset?
Disconnect the power, hold down the SET button and reconnect the power. The device will flash and beep and all learned devices will be deleted.
What do I do if I have short range or unstable signal?
Move SignalMax more centrally between the hub and the devices that are losing contact and avoid obstacles or metal between the devices.
What is included in the delivery?
The delivery includes SecureX SignalMax repeater (1 pc), power adapter (DC5V / Micro USB) (1 pc), mounting screws (4 pcs), plug (4 pcs) and manual (1 pc).

WiFi or Zigbee? Which technology is best for your smart home?
❓ What is the difference between WiFi and Zigbee?
Answer: WiFi devices connect directly to your wireless network and do not require an additional gateway. Zigbee instead uses its own Mesh network and requires a Zigbee Gateway to communicate with the Stonehouse Smart app. WiFi is great for cameras and relays, while Zigbee is ideal for sensors and larger smart homes.
❓ Do I need a Zigbee Gateway?
Answer: Yes. To use Zigbee products, you need a Stonehouse Smart Zigbee Gateway. The gateway connects to your router and acts as the hub that allows all Zigbee devices to communicate with each other and with the Stonehouse Smart app.
❓ Do WiFi products need a gateway?
Answer: No. WiFi products connect directly to your existing WiFi network and do not require a separate gateway or hub.
❓ Can I use WiFi and Zigbee at the same time?
Answer: Yes. Stonehouse Smart is designed to support both WiFi and Zigbee products in the same app. Many people choose to combine the technologies to create a flexible and future-proof smart home.
❓ Why does Zigbee have such a long battery life?
Answer: Zigbee sensors are in sleep mode most of the time and only activate when they need to send information, such as movement, temperature changes or when a door is opened. This provides very low power consumption and long battery life.
❓ How does Zigbee Mesh work?
Answer: Many Zigbee devices powered by 230V act as repeaters and send the signal to the next device. In this way, a Mesh network is built that provides better coverage and higher stability the more fixed Zigbee devices are installed.
❓ Which Zigbee devices work as repeaters?
Answer: Most Zigbee devices that are powered by 230V, such as relay modules, dimmers, smart plugs and wall switches, normally work as repeaters. Battery-powered sensors usually do not work as repeaters.
❓ How long is the range of Zigbee?
Answer: The range is affected by walls, building materials and other obstacles. Typically, the range is about 10 to 25 meters indoors between two Zigbee devices. Thanks to Mesh technology, the total coverage can be significantly greater when more devices are installed.
❓ Is WiFi or Zigbee best?
Answer: It depends on the application. WiFi is an excellent choice for cameras, relays, energy metering and products that need direct internet connection. Zigbee is best suited for sensors, automation and larger installations where long battery life and stable communication are important.
❓ What is Stonehouse Smart?
Answer: Stonehouse Smart is a growing ecosystem for smart homes where WiFi and Zigbee products work together in the same app. The range is continuously developing and includes smart lighting, electrical control, cameras, security, climate, irrigation and other smart solutions for homes and businesses.
