Difference between Mifare Classic and Mifare DESFire

• Mifare Classic – simpler, well-used technology for standard access control systems. Provides a stable and affordable solution for identity and authorizations. Most common in Sweden.
• Mifare DESFire – more advanced and newer technology with higher security (AES encryption), larger memory capacity and support for multiple applications on the same card.

In short: Choose Classic for easier access management, and DESFire when security, flexibility and future-proofing are important.
