1. Measure the profile: The brake housing must be 20 mm wide and rectangular.
2. Check the bracket: It must be detachable. The arm can be released from the bracket using the knob.
3. Measure the whole brake housing: from one end of the straight box to the other. Do not include the box axle, brake pin or arm.
4. Check the direction: hold the opening upwards, the brake housing towards you and the locking pin away from you. The pin to the left = left; the pin to the right = right. The hinges do not determine this.

Not the same as Fix 160S: Fix 160S also features a child-safety locking mechanism and operating device. Length and profile are not enough to identify it.

Special variants: Fix 160/3 special has a 347 mm brake housing and Fix 160/4 special has a 447 mm brake housing for an opening angle of 91–180°. Match the old model exactly.

The 160/4 and 160/5 both have 452 mm brake housings. The difference is primarily the length of the locking axle and the intended bow width. For standard spare part replacement, the existing brake is the best reference.

Fix 160 is used with a compatible ASSA espagnolette with transfer. The disengageable bracket allows the arm to be disconnected for, for example, cleaning and service.

• The locking spindle is cut to length during assembly. When replacing, use the old lock axle as a template. Do not cut the brake housing.
• Check the existing frame anchor. A worn or damaged bracket should be replaced at the same time.
• Compatible detachable brackets can be ASSA 5580 in black or ASSA 5550T in zinc. Check the product's finish before purchase.
• Do not choose by Traryd, SP Fönster or any other manufacturer alone – several braking systems may have been used.

Unsure? Send pictures of the entire brake, the short side of the profile, the frame bracket and any markings, plus the profile width and exact length in millimetres.

Always check in order profile → ISOFIX anchor → child safety lock → exact height → left/right. The make of the door is merely a support.

What is the main difference compared to Fix 150?

Fix 160 has a detachable frame fixing bracket. Fix 150 has a fixed frame fixing bracket. Profiles and certain lengths can otherwise look very similar.

What is the difference compared to the Fix 160S?

The 160S has a special child-safety locking bolt and is used with the ASSA 4570. A standard Fix 160 lacks that feature.

What is the difference between 347 and 352 mm?

They are different models. 347 mm is a special design and should not be replaced blindly with the standard 352 mm model. The same applies to 447 and 452 mm respectively.

How do I tell the difference between 160/4 and 160/5?

Both have 452 mm brake housings, but the 160/5 has a longer locking axle for wider guards. When replacing spare parts, the entire old brake and locking axle are compared.

Are the hinges on the left or the right?

No. Follow the brake pin with the brake housing held with the opening upwards, towards you, and the axle away from you.

Does the model automatically fit Traryd or SP Fönster?

No. The manufacturer name and model year are not enough as several fitting systems may have been used.
