STEP 98 Preload is a compact and fire-rated electric strike with a right-facing function and piston contact. With strip pressure technology, 24V operation and the option of lock indication, it is perfect for knob or key-locked doors.

Electric strike STEP 98 Preload is an electric strike in STEP's Preload series that combines high operational reliability and compact design for use in door environments with knob or key locks.

With a right-handed function – which means that the lock is locked in a de-energized position – it meets high security requirements for offices, technical spaces and apartment entrances.

Thanks to STEP's patented strip pressure technology, the door can be opened even with a strip pressure of up to 40 kg, and the electric strike is fire rated up to E/EI120 according to SS-EN 14846:2008.

The integrated piston switch provides indication of the door status (open/closed), making STEP 98 perfect for connection to access control systems or alarm systems.

With a breaking strength of 9 kN (900 kg) and support for both hook and straight bolts, STEP 98 offers a robust solution for everyday use. The electric strike is reversible for right- and left-hand doors, is tamper-proof and has a built-in protection diode.

It is also possible to supplement with the lock indicator ST4880, for automatic blocking of door automation or code locks when mechanically locking.
