The Apollo PP5021 Orbis Series marine optical smoke detector uses an improved version of the classic light scattering principle, making it more effective in detecting black smoke than traditional optical detectors.

The optical sensor measures light scattered by smoke particles at a wide angle, which provides increased sensitivity and reliability, while significantly reducing the risk of false alarms.

The detector is equipped with algorithms to reject transients and a DirtAlert function that warns when the detector needs to be cleaned.

There is also a flashing LED that shows status and alarm indication.
