Luminescent signs can be used as a complement to emergency lighting when marking escape routes. For optimal effect, the sign/material must be constantly illuminated so that the crystals in it are fully activated. Luminaires with fluorescent tubes or compact fluorescent tubes are recommended for activating the luminescent material.
