STEP 40 Preload is a compact and reliable electric strike with reverse function, piston contact and HPR technology. It can withstand a strike pressure of up to 250 kg and is suitable for both single and double-leaf locks.

The STEP 40 Preload electric strike sets a new standard in day locking with its compact design and high operational reliability.

It is part of STEP's Preload series, which is known for its combination of small dimensions, high quality and flexibility.

This model is inverted, meaning it is unlocked in the de-energized position – a common requirement in environments where safe evacuation or error-free passage is a priority.

Thanks to the patented HPR® technology, unlocking is guaranteed even at strip pressures of up to 250 kg, making STEP 40 a reliable choice in demanding installations.

With a breaking strength of 1,200 kg and tested for 1.5 million cycles, STEP 40 is built for long-term operation. It is reversible and can be installed in both right- and left-hand doors.

The piston contact provides an indication of whether the door is closed or open, which enables integration with access control systems. It is also tamper-proof and equipped with a protection diode.
