Test kit with Testifire 2001, Solo 100, 3 x Solo 101, TS3 and Solo 610. For test height approx. 9.3 m
Detector tester Testifire 2001 for smoke, CO and heat detectors
Heat is generated through a heating element and a fan that blows the air from the side into the detector being tested.
Smoke is generated from the cartridge when a glycerol gel is heated. This type of smoke is the closest we can get to real fire smoke without burning!
CO (carbon monoxide) is generated with the help of a carbon-treated belt that is heated.
Solo 100 – Telescopic pole – 1.26 – 4.5 m
Solo 100 is a telescopic pole that is made of a high-quality, non-electrically conductive fiberglass material. It is both light and stiff, which facilitates high testing heights. The various Solo tools can easily be mounted on top of this test rod.
How is the Solo 100 used?
1-3 pcs. Solo 101 can be mounted on top of Solo 100 for a total testing height of approx. 9.3 m.
The telescopic test rod Solo 100 is used together with our other test equipment and removers.
The following equipment can be used:
- CO and Smoke Detector Tester Solo 330 and Solo 332 (model for larger detectors)
- heat detector testers Solo 461 and Solo 424
- detector remover Solo 200
- universal tester Testifire 1001 and Testifire 2001
The units above are mounted on the test bar simply by sliding the unit into the test bar until it clicks and it automatically locks securely. To separate unit and test rod, the locking button is pushed in and the unit is pulled out of the extension rod. The bars are mounted in the same way on top of each other if you need to get higher up for testing or removing detectors.
3x Test rod extender - Solo 101
Test rod extension of 1.13 m. Solo 101 is an extension rod that is made of a high-quality, non-electrically conductive fiberglass material. It is both light and stiff, which facilitates high testing heights. The various Solo tools can be easily mounted on top of this extender.
How is Solo 101 used?
1-3 pcs. Solo 101 can be mounted on top of each other and they can also be assembled with either Solo 108 or Solo 100 for a total testing height of approx. 7.3 m or approx. 9.3 m.
Extension rod Solo 101 is used together with our other test equipment and takedowns.
Smoke cartridge Testifire TS3
TS3 is the smoke cartridge used in the Testifire 1001 and Testifire 2001. It contains a glycerol gel as heated and then emits a smoke which effectively activates both optical and ionizing smoke detectors. The leaves no residue remaining in the detector when it has been vented out and is harmless to the environment. This is so close to real fire smoke we can come without setting anything on fire! It can generate smoke too approx. 1000 samples which corresponds to approx. 3 bottles of test gas.
Universal takedown detectors Solo 200
Removal tool - Solo 200. The Solo 200 is a practical, easy-to-use and universal detector remover and is a good aid for e.g. facility managers and service companies and can be used for most types of fire detectors (smoke, heat and CO) and sizes. Adjustable and color-coded "grip claws" rotate to fit most sizes (between 64 and 110 mm). The Solo 200 has a ball joint which means that the lower is always parallel to the floor when the upper position is used. If you wish to lock the ball joint at a 90 degree angle, use the lower position instead.
How is the Solo 200 used?
Due to the large number of detectors that the remover can be used for, it is impossible to describe how specific detectors are removed. Below are some tips that may be useful:
Try detectors at low altitude in e.g. a corridor before you try at high altitude
Try to grip the detector at its widest point
Many detectors have not only a “grip-turn” design but a “grip-push-turn” design
Adjusting the claws
It handles most types of detectors through its adjustable head. The claws are spring loaded and color coded. The claws are lifted and turned to select the correct color setting. The claws are locked in the correct position by a locking pin. The following combinations and detector diameters apply:
- Yellow to yellow: 64-76 mm diameter
- Yellow to blue: 75-87 mm diameter
- Blue to blue: 86-95 mm diameter
- Blue vs. Red: 92-105 mm diameter
- Red to red: 98-110 mm diameter
Which detectors can be taken down?
Because the remover is universal, it can be used on most makes. Here is a list of some makes (some types, however, have too large a diameter or too much depth for the remover to be able to grip securely around the detector).
Together with the telescopic pole Solo 108 (2 segments) alt. Solo 100 (4 segments) is given the possibility to take down/put up detectors up to approx. 4 resp. 6 meter ceiling height. With an additional 1-3 Solo 101 extension rods, detector service can be performed up to approx. 9.3 meter ceiling height.
Maintenance
The grip surfaces can be cleaned with a mild detergent and water. These can also be exchanged for new ones if necessary.
Storage bag - Solo 610
The Solo 610 consists of two bags in black synthetic material in which testers, battery rods, take-downs, gas bottles, cassettes, battery testers and the respective rods can be stored and transported. In the large bag, there are two removable partitions that can be adapted to what needs to be transported.
What can fit in the Solo 610?
The bag has room for e.g. the following Testifire products:
- Testifire 1001 or Testifire 2001
- battery charger Solo 726
- in the lid there is room for 2 battery sticks, Solo 770 (and Solo 760 discontinued product)
- the Solo 200 take-off can fit in the pocket on the front
- smoking cartridges Testifire TS3
- CO cartridges Testifire TC3
- single SmokeSabre
- the battery tester cell checker
The following sample rods can be transported in the quiver included in the Solo 610:
- 1 pc. telescopic pole Solo 100 or Solo 108
- 3 pcs. extension pole Solo 101
